Hailing from the DMV area, redveil is a 16 year old hip hop artist who plucks sounds from lo-fi, R&B and trap. Following albums Bittersweet Cry and Niagara, redveil has dropped a new single 'raygun', featuring rapper Kenny Mason. Plucked, reverb-soaked chords on electric guitar invite a thoughtful tone, as if looking up at the city lights that fill the sky at night. A trap-leaning beat follows, and when Kenny's vocals hit, they satisfy immediately. Tonally distinct from Kenny's vocals, redveil's verse is refreshing, and his lyrics insightful: "I'm trying to go back and hear that lesson, my ancestry try to tell". He continues, "I wish I knew myself, I wish I knew what I wanted, resulting from this momentum, this infrastructure from hell".
